Ummmm...

Umm... I really don't know what to write about this week. It was an average week with plenty to do and lots going on but nothing outstanding or particular except the awesome Women's Conference that I went to on Saturday. I love being surrounded by wonderful women who make me feel good and to be able to absorb in the spirit for a morning. I really appreciate the words of wisdom that I received from the 3 workshops I attended.
1. Parenting with Love -- Don't we all feel that we need to parent with more love, less yelling. Well in my case that is how it is. I am not as patient as I used to be a few years ago. I freaks me out some times because I feel like there is this monster with trying to escape. I realize that parenting with patience and love is a better concept because I do know that when I am upset I am not able to think as rationally or even able to think at all I should say. I find that when I am calm and discipline with love things are better and my kids aren't freaked out by my psycho experiences. On a lighter note saiko in Japanese (same way you say psycho) means awesome. So we will just think of them as awesome (but not in a good way) moments instead of crazy moments. Although sometimes I do think that I am going a little crazy. Anyway a great talk to go along with this lesson is "Strengthening Our Families - Our Sacred Duty" by Robert D. Hales, May 1999 Ensign.
2. Happiness is a Grateful Heart -- What a tear jerker. It was about finding the blessings in our trials. She mainly talked about Joseph Smiths life and the trials that he endured but what blessings it brought to many of us. She also gave a touching story of a lady from Africa who lost her family in a very cruel way and was on her own and received a hygiene kit from the missionaries. It saved her life and she became a member of the church. That is just a short explanation of the story, but those hygiene kits we put together are really of great worth to many it sounds like. What a blessing!
3. A Heart Like His -- Recognizing and Sharing Christs love in all we do and say. Being aware of the things that we do and how it might affect other people.
I believe that my testimony was strengthened this day. I am grateful that I was able to attend and bask in the awesomeness of this gospel.

2 Special Occassions and more...

Mackay is so excited for May 2nd to come. We decided to make an announcement for him to invite people to his baptism. All are welcome to come and we will probably only give the invitation to a few of his friends. This is what it looks like, roughly. I couldn't get the invitation that I made to actually come up on my blog. He has been waiting for this moment for several years and we are very happy that he is excited about this occasion.

Tyler celebrated his adoption day on Friday. We decided when we adopted our kids that we would have a special day where we would sit down with our boys and tell them that they are super special and that they were able to become a part of our family at such a young age. We were able to pick them up at the hospital and bring them home when they were just babies. That although they were born from their birth mother, Heavenly Father needed them to come and help out their mom and dad. Therefore they became a part of our family. They were born from our hearts! We really feel like they were suppose to be with us and are very honored with the great blessing to be able to have them as part of our family on this earth and for eternity. We are so Lucky!

As for the rest of the week it was busy as usual. I always think that there will be a quiet week where there is nothing going on, but that is never the case. Anyway I did have Monday to get my home clean, it needed it. Tuesday was Visiting Teaching, Wednesday was something, but I can't remember what it was. Thursday and Friday I helped at the school. Also Friday was Tyler's day so I made sure that I put my stuff aside and did what he wanted. We made a dog house out of a box for his stuffed animals, it could also be a rocket ship. In the evening we went to John's Pizza and ate and played for what he wanted for dinner. We went to Mackay's soccer game and then watched a movie. It was a late night but a lot of fun. Saturday was Tyler's game, a bit of cleaning, and then off for a hike. We all got pretty sunburned form that. Time to break out the sun screen. Anyway, that was our week!

Easter

This week was an eventful week. Mackay started cubscouts and absolutely loved it. Now getting him to do the assignments is another story. We colored Easter eggs Thursday night. Tyler had his Easter Party at school on Friday with decorated Easter buckets (which I just noticed I put two pictures of, Sorry!) and egg hunt. It was a lot of fun. Saturday the kids went to a Primary Activity that was centered around Easter. Sunday was Easter and they got their baskets we also did an egg hunt of our own later in the afternoon. While searching for eggs Mackay found a little baby toad. Its life was very short lived because an hour after we found it it passed on. Poor little thing. My kids have wanted a frog for a long time, but I just know if we got one its life would probably be as short as this poor frog we found. Hope everyone had a happy Easter!

Mack is 8

We celebrated Mackay's 8th Birthday on Saturday! He is so excited to be 8 and to be baptized on May 2nd. We celebrated by having a few friends over. We had eight activities that we played like doing the hula hoop eight times, jumping jump rope 8 times, shooting eight baskets, running and filling up a bucket with a sponge 8 times, and so forth. We also had Sundae's with 8 toppings and cake. It was a lot of fun!

The rest of the week was pretty crazy! I went on a Field Trip with Mackay's class to a farm nearby. The kids all got to ride a horse, see cows, chickens, a turkey, dogs, and a tortoise. It was fun. I forgot my camera so a friend took pictures for me but I haven't got them from her yet. I also did my Visiting Teaching on the 1st day of the month. I have to admit I have never don't it that early in the month before. April 1st was fun and I played a few tricks on the kids. I took the crackers out of their snack bag and put carrots in it and sealed it back up, I also put a gummy worm in their apple. Their cereal bowl had green milk in it and I put balloons in the door and shut it so when they opened their door all of the balloons went flying around the room. It was fun and they just said that I was goofy.

This week we also started soccer. Luckily the boys games are at the same time on Tuesday nights, but we now have a game every Friday night and Saturday morning.

Conference was great to watch this weekend. I am really grateful that we have that spiritual uplift from the General Authorities every 6 month. The talks were all wonderful and some hit me harder that others and I know what I need to work on. I appreciate those great people and their wonderful insight.
