Don't you just love spring! I love that the flowers are all out in bloom, especially that I have some in my own front yard and the amazing thing is that I planted them last year and they are still alive. I have a lot of hope that I might have a little of a green thumb so that the garden I planted survives and actually will give me some produce. Especially the way that food prices are going up and everything is in shortage. Makes me so nervous!
Anyway, about my week... Justin got home Monday morning from his adventure with his brothers to Southern Utah Mountain Biking and went straight to work. He woke up at 1 a.m. and drove all night to get here, crazy guy! After we said good-bye to him I went to take the kids to school and our car was dead so we ran down to the Clayson's because there phone was busy when we tried to call and they took
Mackay to school. Thank goodness for good neighbors! Tyler and I got home and tried to shut the garage and there was no action there either. I was starting to think that there must have been some cosmic phenomenon that went through our garage during the night, but I put some laundry in the wash and it worked just fine. Anyway, I figured out that something fell on the sensor in our garage and so I bent that back in place and the garage worked fine. I ended up taking Tyler to school by bike. Luckily we have a bike stroller, it has saved me so many times. It was good that I did that, I needed some exercise. Our car was all fixed by evening, we just had to
jump start it. A light in the car was left on and you can guess what happened from there.
To add excitement to my week, I decided to take
Mackay out to lunch on Wednesday after spending the morning in his class. We were on our way down China Lake Blvd. when I looked in the back mirror and saw flashing lights. You guessed it, I was pulled over by the police. Now why this was happening I had no clue because: a) I knew I wasn't speeding, b) I didn't run a red light, c) I drive a minivan for
Pete's sake. Well guess what happened? Well,
Mackay was sitting in the back seat in the middle and the seat belt wasn't quite tight enough so he decided he would wave at the policeman and was almost standing to do it. So the very nice policeman gave us a little lecture on
seat belts and let us go. What a relief! We had a nice lunch and
Mackay was happy to go back to school and to see where Tyler had his preschool.
This week Tyler has been telling me about things that he has done and then saying, "Don't tell anybody that I said that (or did that)". So don't tell him that I wrote about that!
We had a date this weekend. We went to check out mattresses at the furniture store, boy are they expensive and of course the one we wanted most was the most expensive one. Guess we will deal with our mattress for a little longer. We also went to China Express, it is very good. I can't remember what I had (it had a strange name).
This weekend we didn't do to much. Justin got our swamp cooler going and the kids just had a blast playing in the water in the backyard. Oh, we did go out for breakfast just for fun Saturday morning before
Mackay's soccer game. The team
Mackay played were huge,
Mackay said he was scared after the game because the other team was so big. Anyway, they lost. Luckily
Mackay isn't a
competitive kid because it really doesn't bother him when he losses.
Through all of the craziness of the week I can actually say that it was a really good week. We worked out all of our problems, and my kids were so good. They were so cute to tell me how much they loved me and that I am beautiful and just all of these nice compliments. I was wondering if they were trying to butter me up for something, but they were actually very sincere. You just have to love that part of being a mom!
